ACWORTH, Ga., Feb. 26, 2026 — A long-standing family dental practice in Acworth has introduced discounted new-patient packages aimed at reducing costs for residents without dental insurance.
Alan N. Parnes DDS, which has served the Acworth community for more than four decades, announced two limited offers designed for patients paying out of pocket. The first package costs $125 and includes a diagnostic exam and dental X-rays. A second option, priced at $199, adds a professional cleaning to the exam and imaging.
The $199 package includes a standard “healthy mouth” cleaning and is available to patients who do not have periodontal disease. Both promotions are offered exclusively to new patients without insurance coverage.
The initiative comes as millions of Americans continue to lack dental coverage. Data from the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health shows that about 72 million U.S. adults — roughly 27% of the adult population — do not have dental insurance. The figure is nearly three times higher than the number of adults without general health insurance. As a result, many people delay routine dental visits, allowing minor oral health issues to develop into more serious and costly problems.
“After more than 40 years in Acworth, we know many of our neighbors pay for dental care themselves,” said Dr. Alan Parnes, owner of the practice. “These packages give patients a straightforward way to begin care with predictable pricing for an exam and cleaning.”
In the greater Atlanta metropolitan area, a typical first dental appointment that includes an exam, X-rays and cleaning can cost between $150 and $400. The clinic said its $199 package is intended to lower that initial cost barrier and encourage preventive care.
According to the American Dental Association, dental services present greater financial obstacles than many other forms of health care, with cost frequently cited as a primary reason adults postpone needed treatment.

The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and serves patients throughout West Cobb County, including Kennesaw, Marietta, Woodstock and communities near Lake Allatoona.
