CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Children in Champaign-Urbana will have the opportunity to receive free dental services this Saturday, thanks to a collaboration of local health and dental organizations.
The Illini District Dental Society will host Give Kids A Smile Day at the Parkland College Dental Hygiene Clinic from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children ages one to 17 can receive a dental exam, cleaning, or fluoride treatment at no cost. There are no income or residency requirements, and no appointments are needed. A parent or legal guardian must accompany each child.
This event is part of the Children’s Dental Access Program and the national Give Kids A Smile initiative, which provide oral healthcare to underserved children from low-income families.
Each year, roughly 6,500 dentists and 30,000 dental team members volunteer at local GKAS events, delivering screenings, preventive care, and oral health education to more than 300,000 children nationwide.
The Parkland College fair will also feature dental hygiene education, free toothbrushes, and a visit from the Tooth Fairy. For 2026, organizers are adding silver diamine fluoride (SDF) treatments to the services offered.
The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is partnering with the Illini District Dental Society and Parkland College to host this free community event.
