Ohio Police Investigate Shooting Deaths of Columbus Dentist and Wife as Security Footage Sought

Shock and confusion grip the community following the deaths of Ohio dentist Spencer Tepe and his wife, Monique, who were found fatally shot in their Columbus home. The couple, remembered by friends as loving parents, were killed while their young children were inside the residence, leaving friends and neighbors grappling with questions that remain unanswered.

According to police, the incident occurred in the couple’s four-bedroom home in the quiet Weinland Park neighborhood. Authorities reported no sign of forced entry and noted that the suspected shooter quickly fled the scene. The case has left friends struggling to understand who could have wanted to harm the couple. Nick Wagner, a family friend whose wife was close friends with Monique, described her as caring and a great mother, expressing bewilderment at the tragedy.

A potential break in the investigation may come from a security camera mounted on a utility pole just across the street from the Tepe residence. This camera, which is positioned at the intersection of Fourth Street and East Eighth Avenue, could hold crucial evidence if it recorded footage of the suspect entering or leaving the home. Police officials have yet to confirm if the camera has provided any useful material related to the killings.

Police have established that Spencer Tepe suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Monique was shot at least once in the chest. No firearm was found at the crime scene, and authorities have indicated that the deaths do not appear to be a murder-suicide. A friend of Spencer’s reportedly discovered his body near a bed and alerted emergency services. The probe continues as the suspect remains at large.

Meanwhile, Athens Dental Depot, where Dr. Tepe worked, closed its doors to honor his memory. Mark Valrose, the owner, expressed his condolences to both families and acknowledged the loss felt by employees and patients alike. As the investigation develops, the community continues to await answers while mourning the loss of two well-respected members.
