County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey has announced that its Foundation will receive a significant $1 million grant from the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation. This funding will be used to launch the college’s new Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs in the Center for Health Professions. The center, currently being built, will serve as a hub for health education and is expected to open in winter 2027.
This grant stands out as the largest corporate foundation gift ever received by the college. It follows an earlier $100,000 SMILE grant also provided by Delta Dental in August 2024, which helped support the development and implementation of these dental programs. Dr. Anthony J. Iacono, president of County College of Morris, expressed gratitude for Delta Dental’s support, stating that it will help prepare students to meet the dental care needs in the region. He praised Delta Dental’s commitment to both the dental profession and education at CCM, highlighting the future impact on students entering the medical and dental workforce.
The 80,000 square-foot Center for Health Professions is being funded in part by state and county support, thanks to the involvement of several local senators and Morris County Commissioners. This facility will include modern classrooms and laboratories designed to replicate the environments found in leading medical and dental centers. The grant from Delta Dental will play a crucial role in equipping these spaces with advanced technology, improving the quality of instruction and public oral health.
Paul Di Maio, President and CEO of Delta Dental of New Jersey, said building a strong and diverse dental workforce is central to the foundation’s mission. He noted that supporting CCM’s Center for Health Professions is a way for Delta Dental to turn its corporate achievements into lasting community resources that educate future dental professionals.
Kelly Meola, CCM Foundation Executive Director, commented on how gifts like this highlight the importance of philanthropy in shaping the future of healthcare education. She emphasized that support from Delta Dental and other partners will have long-lasting benefits, inviting the community, alumni, and friends to get involved with the foundation’s efforts. County College of Morris remains committed to academic quality and community engagement, and the Foundation continues to raise funds for programs, scholarships, and improvements beyond what tuition covers.
