Aspen Dental Launches Match Week to Celebrate New Dental Graduates and Boost Professional Development

Aspen Dental has unveiled Match Week, a new annual event aimed at celebrating dental school graduates as they begin their careers within the Aspen Dental network. The initiative offers a special moment similar to a “Signing Day” for new dentists, where their personal achievements, motivations, and ambitions are highlighted as they start their professional journey. Aspen Dental welcomes hundreds of dental students and residents each year, driven by the network’s dedication to mentorship and expanding access to quality oral health care.

Match Week stands as a public demonstration of Aspen Dental’s commitment to nurturing new dentists with education, guidance, and necessary resources, aiming to help them build successful and lasting careers. Throughout the week, which takes place from February 9 to 13, graduating students are featured on Aspen Dental’s platforms, sharing their stories and discussing how they plan to impact the communities they will serve.

Many new dentists join Aspen Dental because they see dentistry as a way to make a difference in people’s lives, both by treating pain and restoring confidence. Amie Nguyen, a soon-to-be graduate of the University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, will begin working at Aspen Dental in North Minneapolis. She believes dentistry offers an opportunity to serve others and improve overall quality of life, especially for those without easy access to oral care. Similarly, Maria Leal from the University of Pennsylvania plans to join Aspen Dental in Erie, Pennsylvania, with hopes to positively influence patients and encourage families and communities to value oral health.

Aspen Dental supports these new dentists through a comprehensive onboarding and development program. The initiative gives them access to experienced mentors, hands-on education, and ongoing training at specialized centers like the Oral Care Center for Excellence and The Aspen Group University. This approach is designed to help new doctors build confidence, strengthen their clinical skills, and grow into leadership roles or even practice ownership.

The company is also focused on helping dental graduates financially. Aspen Dental will offer scholarships to three dental students during the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting as part of its commitment to supporting the next generation of dentists. With over 1,100 independently owned and operated locations, Aspen Dental continues its mission from its founding in 1998: breaking down barriers to better dental care for both doctors and patients, and bringing improved oral health to communities across the nation.
