Dental Hygiene Focus As Regent Dental Marks First Year Serving Ilkley Community

Regent Dental, located on Regent Road in the centre of Ilkley, has celebrated its first year in operation after opening in early 2025. The practice took over the former Regent Orthodontics premises following the retirement of respected orthodontist Mr Damian Petrucci at the end of 2024.

Building on that established reputation, Regent Dental has broadened its services to include implants, cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign®. The practice says it now offers the most affordable Invisalign® treatment across the Yorkshire region.

Practice Manager Julie Bastow said the aim from the outset was to create a modern and welcoming environment where patients feel supported and confident in their dental care.

“One year on, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how strongly that vision has resonated with our patients and the wider Ilkley community,” she said.

Over the past 12 months, the practice has seen steady growth in its patient base, welcoming families, professionals, children and long-standing local residents. Continued investment in advanced technology has enabled the team to deliver a wide range of care, from routine check-ups to complex cosmetic procedures.

A particular emphasis has been placed on supporting nervous and anxious patients. The practice has developed a calm, spa-like setting designed to feel both clinical and homely, helping patients feel relaxed from the moment they arrive.

“One of the most rewarding parts of our work is seeing anxious patients grow in confidence,” Bastow said. “Helping someone overcome their fear of dental treatment and leave smiling is incredibly fulfilling for our whole team.”

Patient feedback during the first year has been positive, with many highlighting the friendly staff, unhurried appointments and clear explanations of treatment options.

“We believe dentistry should feel personal, not rushed,” Bastow added. “It’s been wonderful to hear from patients who feel genuinely listened to and supported.”

Regent Dental has also been active in the local community, promoting dental hygiene and oral health education. The team visited two primary schools last year to encourage good habits at home, citing links between poor oral health and wider conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Further school visits are planned for 2026, alongside outreach work with local nursing homes.

The practice supports local businesses and runs a Refer a Friend scheme, offering a £20 Bettys voucher for successful recommendations.

To mark its first anniversary, Regent Dental has partnered with Ilkley Business Improvement District to launch a community prize draw. The top prize includes a free dental check-up, hygiene appointment and Boutique Whitening treatment, with additional prizes offering complimentary check-ups and hygiene appointments.

As the practice enters its second year, Bastow thanked patients for their support and said the team is looking ahead with confidence.
