PDS Health®, a leading integrated healthcare support organization, announced the launch of PDS Health Medical™, a new division designed to connect dental services with healthcare through telehealth clinics, embedded clinicians, and a coordinated referral network.
This initiative demonstrates PDS Health’s commitment to the Mouth-Body Connection® and marks a step toward more connected preventative care.
“Our growing understanding of the Mouth-Body Connection® has revealed that the separation of dental care from medical care is a significant barrier to better health,” said Stephen E. Thorne IV, Founder and CEO of PDS Health.
PDS Health Medical directly addresses this issue by integrating oral health with primary care, creating a more holistic approach that improves patient outcomes.”
Initially piloted in Summerlin, Nevada, the integrated model has expanded to 13 fully operational clinics, including eight in Las Vegas and five in the Greater Phoenix area. It is designed to support team-based, whole-person care through shared systems and unified clinical workflows. At the heart of this approach is the Epic® electronic health record system. PDS Health was the first dental practice of its size to fully deploy Epic and currently operates the largest oral health system in the world, enabling clinicians to access a complete patient history, enabling them to provide more informed, coordinated care.
Joe Feldsien, President of PDS Health Medical, added, “Now, clinicians have a comprehensive view of their patients’ health that wasn’t possible when dentistry and healthcare were separate operations. This transforms the way we approach preventive care and chronic disease management.”
PDS Health Medical plans to expand its integrated care model in existing and emerging markets, initially focusing on Nevada, Arizona, California, and Colorado.
It also offers primary care providers unique opportunities for clinical leadership, practice autonomy, and long-term community impact.
In addition, PDS Health Medical is exploring partnerships with like-minded health systems to provide more connected and convenient care.
With its nationwide reach and robust infrastructure, the organization is well-positioned to support primary care through an integrated, community-based model.
By integrating dental services with healthcare through shared systems and connected teams, PDS Health Medical advances a model that improves care, enhances healthcare delivery, and prioritizes patients’ long-term health.
