Dozens of people across the metropolitan area received free dental care on Tuesday.
Five Eyewitness News cameras captured footage of a makeshift dental clinic at Healthy Living Disability Services in Mendota Heights.
The three-day clinic was a partnership with Jet Dental and funded by the Minnesota Delta Dental Foundation.
Organizers said they tailored services to individual needs.
For example, if someone didn’t want to sit in a chair, the dentist would lie on the floor. “The dentist literally lay on the floor to complete the appointment, which doesn’t happen in a regular dental office,” said Jamee Young, director of development at Healthy Living Disability Services.
The clinic opened in 2024, and organizers say over 200 people have benefited from dental care.
