Oral Health Starts Young: Expert Albanë Krasniqi Shares Tips for Children’s Dental Care

In the podcast “Health First,” supported by United Hospitals, renowned dentist Albanë Krasniqi shared her expert insights and experience in children’s oral care.

The podcast discussion emphasized the importance of instilling a brushing habit from a young age and how dental hygiene directly impacts a child’s overall health.

“Brushing techniques are largely the same for children and adults,” Krasniqi noted, “but for children, using a toothbrush with soft bristles is recommended to avoid damaging the gums or tooth enamel.”

She further emphasized the importance of brushing duration: “Each brushing should last two to three minutes. Ideally, you should brush after every meal, but if this isn’t possible during the day, brushing in the morning and evening is especially important.

Brushing before bed is especially crucial, as saliva production decreases at night, and saliva contributes to the natural cleansing of the mouth.”

Krasniqi’s advice provides parents with scientific guidance on how to help children establish good oral health habits from an early age, thereby promoting overall health.
