Hair loss affects a significant number of women, yet it remains a topic rarely discussed openly. According to recent figures, about two out of three women—roughly 66%—report experiencing some form of hair loss over the past year. Despite its prevalence, the condition often carries stigma and emotional distress, as hair is closely tied to personal identity and confidence. Finding effective treatments can also be difficult and expensive.
Pantene is seeking to address this issue with the launch of its new Abundant & Strong hair care range, now available in drugstores. The product line is designed to target underlying causes of hair shedding, including a lesser-known factor known as scalp oxidative stress.
Research conducted by Pantene scientists suggests that, in addition to common triggers such as hormonal changes, stress and aging, oxidative stress on the scalp can contribute to hair loss. This condition occurs when factors such as ultraviolet (UV) exposure, pollution and natural scalp oils create an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants. The imbalance may weaken the scalp’s ability to anchor hair strands, potentially accelerating hair fall.
The Abundant & Strong collection aims to counter this process with a Pro-Vitamin Complex that combines several active ingredients. These include Pro-Vitamin B5, a key Pantene ingredient known for strengthening hair; piroctone olamine, an antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals; and niacinamide, which supports the scalp’s skin barrier.
Together, the ingredients are designed to reduce hair shedding while promoting thicker and healthier-looking hair.
The regimen includes three products intended for daily use. The Abundant & Strong Shampoo cleanses the scalp while helping strengthen hair at the root. The matching conditioner works to reinforce the structure of each strand, reducing breakage. Completing the routine is the Abundant & Strong Daily Scalp & Root Serum, a lightweight treatment that delivers antioxidants and nourishment directly to the scalp.
According to Pantene, the serum can be applied to either wet or dry hair without leaving a greasy residue, making it suitable for everyday use.
As demand grows for accessible hair loss solutions, the company’s new range reflects a broader shift in the beauty industry toward science-driven products designed to address scalp health as a key factor in maintaining strong hair.
