York Dental Practice Honored with Healthwatch York’s First-Ever Special Award

Mydentist, a dental practice located in Stonebow House, York, has been awarded the first-ever special recognition by Healthwatch York. The award celebrates the practice’s exceptional contribution to health and social care, especially its support for vulnerable individuals.

Charlotte Hyde, practice manager at Mydentist, expressed pride in receiving the honor. She said, “Winning this special award is a tremendous honor and a proud moment for our practice team. It highlights our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and the positive difference we aim to make in our community.”

The practice plays a vital role in managing urgent care referrals and assisting patients who face difficulties accessing NHS dental treatment. It also partners in group drop-in sessions aimed at supporting vulnerable women and provides help for those with immediate dental needs.

This recognition comes as Mydentist opens a new site, launched in June 2024 after a £1.5 million investment. The modern, fully accessible facility now serves over 15,000 patients.

Currently, the practice operates 12 surgeries and plans to expand to 15 in the near future.
