Free Dental Clinic to Serve 250 Children at First Horizon Park in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — First Horizon Park will host a free dental clinic for 250 children on Friday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., just in time to prepare kids for the upcoming school year.

The event, known as Kids Dental Day, is now in its fourth year and aims to provide vital dental care to children who may not have regular access to such services.

Children attending the clinic will come from summer camps and community groups, including local chapters of the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee. Each child will receive a free dental screening and a cleaning if needed.

In addition to preventive care, healthcare professionals will administer silver diamine fluoride, a non-invasive treatment used to halt the progression of cavities.

Beyond dental services, the event will also provide each child with a new pair of socks and shoes, as well as a book from the Book’em Book Bus.

The initiative is a collaborative effort involving several partners, including the Nashville Sounds, Delta Dental, Meharry Medical College, Neighborhood Health, cityCURRENT, and Samaritan’s Feet.

Organizers say the mission of Kids Dental Day is simple: to offer critical dental care and health education to underserved children in the Nashville area.
