Park Family and Cosmetic Dentistry Teams Up with Smiles for Freedom to Provide No-Cost Services to Local Veterans
NAPLES, Fla. – Park Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is once again stepping up for those who have served. In partnership with the national nonprofit Smiles for Freedom, the Naples-based dental practice will offer a full day of free dental care to military veterans and active-duty service members on Saturday, November 8.
JoAnn Peake, Chief Operating Officer at the practice, said the event reflects the team’s deep commitment to giving back.
“Our practice likes to give back to the community,” Peake said. “We cherish everyone there, and the veterans are just so underestimated with their healthcare and their dental care.”
The event is open to all veterans and active-duty military personnel. To qualify, individuals must undergo a preliminary dental assessment by August 15. This pre-screening helps the team prepare for each patient’s needs on the day of service. Regardless of the dental work required, all procedures performed during the event will be completely free of charge.
This marks the second year the practice is hosting the initiative, and they hope to expand their impact.
“Well, last year was our first event, which is our inaugural year for the Smiles for Freedom, and we provided over $77,000 in free dental care to local veterans that day,” Peake said.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by Smiles for Freedom to bring essential dental care to veterans who often lack access to consistent or affordable oral health services. Many veterans do not qualify for dental benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs unless they meet specific criteria, leaving a significant gap in care.
By participating in Smiles for Freedom, Park Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is helping close that gap—one smile at a time.
For veterans or service members interested in participating, appointments for the required pre-assessment are now being scheduled.
This event underscores the importance of community support and highlights how local businesses can play a role in addressing health care disparities for those who served.
