PLANT CITY — Zendah Grotto, a charitable organization in Plant City, is reaching out to families of children with special needs. The group offers free dental care for children who face medical, behavioral, or financial barriers to treatment.
Located at 805 W. Mahoney St., Zendah Grotto is part of a national network known as the Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm. While it has roots in Freemasonry, the Grotto focuses on fellowship, fun, and community service.
A key mission of the Grotto is supporting the Grotto Humanitarian Foundation. This foundation provides free dental care to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who often cannot access proper treatment through traditional channels. The foundation covers costs that insurance does not, ensuring that children receive essential dental care.
“I believe every child deserves a healthy and happy smile,” said Travis “Risky” Barbee, a member of Zendah Grotto and self-employed yacht broker and cigar lounge owner. Last year, Barbee organized a cross-country motorcycle ride from Plant City to Anchorage, Alaska, raising more than $50,000 for the foundation.
Barbee has been a Freemason for more than 20 years and a member of Zendah Grotto for the past five years.
Zendah Grotto is currently seeking referrals for families in need. Parents or caregivers of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities who require dental care are encouraged to contact the organization.
