Sleaford’s Treeline Dental has officially opened its expanded facility, marking a significant growth in its local dental services.
The practice, which has operated on Southgate since 2018, has converted the former Blanchards Coffee Shop on the corner of Boston Road into a modern extension of its clinic. The new facility, named Treeline Dental Suite, has been serving patients for six months following a soft launch, according to Dr. Jimmy Palahey, co-owner of the practice alongside his wife, Navjit Jandu, who also serves as clinical director and dentist.
Dr. Palahey explained that they had delayed the official opening while awaiting final approval from the Care Quality Commission and ensuring patient satisfaction before approaching Lincolnshire’s Integrated Care Board to expand NHS services at the new site.
The suite was formally opened by Sleaford and North Hykeham MP Dr. Caroline Johnson.
“We opened the new facility to increase capacity. Our team was ready to take on more patients,” said Dr. Palahey.
Treeline Dental now serves up to 8,000 patients in Sleaford, supported by 20 dentists and clinical staff. Across all its East Midlands locations, the practice employs 250 staff members. Despite recruitment challenges in Lincolnshire’s dental sector, Dr. Palahey said Treeline has successfully attracted and retained dentists, attributing this to the practice’s strong training programs.
Operating across two sites has allowed Treeline to offer different patient experiences. The Southgate clinic retains a traditional, clinical design, while the new suite, housed in a Grade II Listed building, offers a more premium environment. The facility includes a reception area and two additional dental surgeries, featuring relaxing cloud imagery on the ceilings.
These new rooms complement the four surgeries at the original site and are particularly suited to cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening and straightening. Patients may be seen at either location depending on clinician availability, with computer and telephone systems fully integrated.
Sustainability has been a key focus during the refurbishment. Dr. Palahey said the team preserved original woodwork and doorways, while working closely with North Kesteven District Council to align with conservation initiatives. A mural on the side of the building adds a distinctive community feature.
“Our aim was for the building to be an asset to Sleaford,” Dr. Palahey added.
Dr. Johnson praised the new facility, saying: “The aesthetics are lovely. It’s a quality environment, which is important when some people feel anxious about visiting the dentist. Comfortable surroundings help put patients at ease.”
She highlighted the benefit of increased NHS capacity in Sleaford, noting: “Many constituents have contacted me about access to dental care.” While adult NHS appointments are currently full, the practice continues to accept children and dependents.
