Delta Dental of Oklahoma Launches Free Oral Health Programs for Classrooms

OKLAHOMA CITY — Delta Dental of Oklahoma and its Foundation are offering free, interactive programs to teach children the importance of oral hygiene.

Access to dental care remains limited for many children in Oklahoma. Research shows that students with poor oral health are more likely to miss school and face lower academic performance.

“Promoting positive oral hygiene habits is essential for setting children up for a lifetime of dental health,” said Terrisa Singleton, director of the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation. “Our Captain Supertooth and MouthScience programs empower children to take care of their teeth and improve the overall oral health of Oklahomans.”

The Foundation provides two free programs for educators across the state:

Captain Supertooth

Designed for pre-K through third grade students, Captain Supertooth uses a superhero mascot to teach children about good dental habits. The program is available for in-person performances in classrooms.

MouthScience

This hands-on program targets third through sixth grade students. MouthScience kits allow teachers to demonstrate the levels of acid and sugar in common drinks, encouraging healthier choices. The kits include all necessary materials and align with Oklahoma Academic Standards.

Both programs are provided at no cost to Oklahoma classrooms. Students who participate will receive a free toothbrush to help them maintain proper oral hygiene.

By bringing these programs directly into schools, Delta Dental of Oklahoma aims to give children practical tools and knowledge to protect their teeth, build confidence, and support long-term health.
