Dentistry Today has announced the addition of Dr. Sammy Noumbissi, DDS, MS, AFAAID, to its advisory board, bringing with him a wealth of clinical expertise, academic achievement, and leadership in the field of implant dentistry.

Dr. Noumbissi is widely recognized for his contributions to dental implantology, particularly in the advancement and clinical application of ceramic implant systems. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, before pursuing advanced specialty training at Loma Linda University in California. There, he completed the institution’s prestigious three-year Graduate Program in Implant Dentistry, earning both a Certificate in Implant Dentistry and a Master of Science degree in Implant Surgery.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Noumbissi has built a strong reputation as both a clinician and a researcher. He has authored multiple book chapters and published more than sixty scientific and clinical articles, with a focused interest in the biological and physiological impact of implant materials. In 2009, he became one of the first clinicians in North America to introduce ceramic implant therapy into private practice, helping to pioneer a treatment modality that continues to gain traction worldwide.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Noumbissi remains deeply engaged in academia and global research initiatives. He currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of Milan, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chieti–Pescara, and a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Ceramic Materials at INSA Lyon, France. His international academic involvement reflects a commitment to advancing the science behind implant dentistry and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
Dr. Noumbissi is also the founder of the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology, established in 2011 to promote education and innovation in implant dentistry with a strong emphasis on material science and biological principles. Through this organization and his broader professional work, he continues to influence clinicians, researchers, and manufacturers alike.
An Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Dr. Noumbissi’s expertise is widely sought throughout the dental community. He maintains a private practice near Washington, DC, in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he focuses on advanced implant care.
His appointment to the Dentistry Today advisory board reflects the publication’s ongoing commitment to thought leadership and clinical excellence.
