CHICAGO, March 10, 2026 — BiteZen, a Colorado-based dental technology company, has secured a $50,000 seed investment from Dr. Arash Hakhamian, Founder and CEO of Dentulu, after winning the top prize at the 2026 Dental Tech Shark Tank event during the Dental VIP Summit in Chicago.
Dentulu, one of the largest teledentistry networks, will also collaborate with BiteZen to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to support the completion of the company’s $1,000,000 seed round.
BiteZen’s technology enables dental laboratories to integrate sensing capabilities into traditional night guards and other oral appliances, converting them into connected devices capable of monitoring clenching, grinding, wear patterns, and patient compliance.
“Large manufacturers have invested millions into proprietary smart technologies, but most independent labs can’t afford such R&D costs,” said Dr. Hakhamian. “BiteZen provides a cost-effective solution that levels the playing field.”
BiteZen’s platform has potential for expansion beyond night guards, including aligners, dentures, and other oral appliances. The company has already secured six pilot partnerships with U.S. dental laboratories, including Drake Dental Lab and IDT Dental Lab.
“The lab market is becoming more competitive, and offering smart appliances powered by BiteZen helps us stand out,” said Darrick Hartman, owner of JR Dental Lab. “We can provide dentists with measurable compliance and patient data, which is a real differentiator.”
Along with Dr. Hakhamian’s investment, Colorado-based venture firm Howdy Partners has pledged $250,000 toward BiteZen’s current seed round.
