Dental Implants Training in South Africa Connects Romanian, Moldovan Professionals Globally

Cape Town, South Africa – Over 150 dental professionals from Romania and the Republic of Moldova gathered in South Africa this January for the Beyond Borders circuit, organized by GURSK. The program offered a unique international platform combining clinical education, professional dialogue, and exposure to the local implantology ecosystem.

Designed as a hands-on learning experience, the initiative went beyond traditional congress attendance. Participants received direct interaction with international experts, explored practical clinical applications, and gained insight into modern implantology practices relevant to daily work. The program emphasized linking scientific content with professional community development and firsthand experience of global implantology infrastructure.

The central event, the ImplantoDays Beyond the Borders: Africa Edition Congress, took place in Cape Town. It featured presentations by Prof. Dr. Howard Gluckman, Dr. Ebrahim Fakir, and Dr. Warren Farao, who shared surgical and prosthetic perspectives, focusing on clinical predictability, protocol application, and the integration of modern technologies into dental practice.

A highlight of the circuit was the visit to the Southern Implants manufacturing facility in Irene. Attendees observed production workflows, engaged with company specialists, and gained insight into research, design, and manufacturing processes. This provided a practical understanding of the quality standards and innovation driving implant solutions used worldwide.

Through the Beyond Borders circuit, GURSK reinforced its role in facilitating continuing medical education and international professional experiences. For participants, the initiative offered contextualized professional development, direct dialogue with global experts, and alignment with international trends in implantology.
