VISALIA, Calif., Feb. 3, 2026— Carrington College and San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) in Visalia will host a free dental clinic for children on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of National Children’s Dental Health Month.
The event will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Carrington College Visalia campus, located at 8344 W. Mineral King Ave. The clinic is open to children ages 6 to 16, and a parent or guardian must be present.
Services will include dental sealants, fluoride treatments, oral exams, and instruction on proper oral hygiene and preventive care. Each child will also receive a complimentary oral hygiene bag while supplies last.
In addition to the special event, the campus dental hygiene clinic is open weekly by appointment and provides a full range of dental hygiene services for both children and adults.
National Children’s Dental Health Month is observed each February and is sponsored by the American Dental Association. The initiative aims to promote good oral hygiene habits and raise awareness that tooth decay remains one of the most common yet preventable childhood health issues.
“Providing access to preventive dental care at an early age can make a meaningful difference in a child’s long-term oral health,” said Brenda Serpa, Dental Hygiene Program Director at Carrington College in Visalia. “This clinic gives students and faculty the opportunity to deliver essential services while educating families on daily habits that help prevent tooth decay.”
The clinic reflects Carrington College’s continued commitment to community outreach and hands-on education. The Visalia campus offers Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs, combining classroom learning with supervised clinical experience to prepare students for careers in the dental field.
“National Children’s Dental Health Month is an ideal time to give back and support local families,” Serpa said. “We are proud to open our campus and resources to help children build healthy oral hygiene habits that can last a lifetime.”
