MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Reed Family Dentistry concluded 2025 with a series of major awards recognizing its excellence in dental care, patient service, and community involvement across the Mid-South.
The third-generation, family-owned practice won first place in the Dental Clinic category of The Commercial Appeal’s Memphis Most Community Choice Awards, an honor determined by public vote and reflecting strong community trust.
In professional recognition, Dr. Kevin Reed and Dr. Taylor Reed were both named to Memphis Magazine’s 2025 Top Dentists List, an accolade based on peer selection that highlights clinical skill and professionalism.
Families across the region also recognized the practice, awarding it second place in the Pediatric Dental Clinic category of Memphis Parent Magazine’s 2025 Family Choice Awards. The honor reflects the practice’s child-friendly environment and focus on compassionate care.
Additional local honors came from The Covington Leader’s 2025 Reader’s Choice Awards, where Reed Family Dentistry was named Best Dental Clinic and Dr. Kevin Reed received the Best Dentist title. The awards underscore the practice’s reputation in Covington, where it operates alongside its Millington office.
Reed Family Dentistry was also featured in At Home Memphis & Mid-South Magazine’s “On a Good Note” section for its community service efforts. The recognition highlighted participation in initiatives such as the Mid-South Mission of Mercy, which provides free dental services to underserved patients.
Community service has long been central to the practice’s mission. Dr. Kevin and Dr. Taylor Reed have participated in dental mission trips to Honduras, volunteered with Donated Dental Services, and supported Mid-South Mission of Mercy. Dr. Kevin Reed has also served as a volunteer dentist with Church Health since the nonprofit’s founding in 1988.
“We believe dentistry is about more than teeth,” said Dr. Kevin Reed. “It’s about building relationships, serving families, and giving back to the community.”
Founded in 1949 by Dr. Loyd Reed shortly after World War II, Reed Family Dentistry was Millington’s first dental practice. Now led by Dr. Kevin Reed and his son, Dr. Taylor Reed, the practice recently marked its 75th anniversary. The family credits its long-standing success to advanced training at the Pankey Institute, a globally recognized dental education center.
Looking ahead, Reed Family Dentistry says it remains committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate dental care while continuing to serve and support communities throughout the Mid-South.
