TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 13, 2026 — Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN) announced a new partnership with the Canadian Foundation for the Advancement of Orthodontics (CFAO) to expand access to orthodontic care for children in need across Canada.
Under the initiative, Align will support Invisalign® treatment for 30 eligible patients through CFAO’s Smiles4Canada program. Launched in 2016, Smiles4Canada is a public health goodwill initiative that helps young people with significant orthodontic needs whose families cannot afford treatment.
“Align’s support of Smiles4Canada is critical, as it helps orthodontists provide care to young patients who need it most,” said Alison Nash, executive director of CFAO. “Their commitment strengthens our ability to serve communities across Canada and reinforces the values that guide our profession every day.”
CFAO was established in 1981 as the charitable arm of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO). In addition to supporting research and education, the foundation focuses on improving access to quality orthodontic care. More than 800 children have benefited from Smiles4Canada since its launch.
“Align Technology is proud to support orthodontists across Canada who are making a meaningful difference in their communities,” said Frank Quinn, executive vice president and managing director for the Americas at Align Technology. “Through Smiles4Canada, we’re helping doctors treat patients with the Invisalign System who might not otherwise have access to orthodontic care, improving both oral health and self-esteem.”
Align said the initiative builds on its broader efforts to increase access to orthodontic treatment worldwide. The company offers discounted fees and additional support for doctors treating patients who are not well suited for fixed appliances due to health conditions, allergies, disabilities, or specific disorders.
In Canada, the United States, EMEA, and Australia, Align also operates Invisalign product donation programs aimed at children and adolescents. Through its Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) program, Invisalign-trained doctors collaborate to provide treatment to young patients with medical challenges. Since 2019, more than 200 patients have received care through ARK, with Align waiving laboratory fees.
In 2023, Align expanded its nonprofit partnerships in the United States and Canada to help families who cannot afford the full cost of orthodontic treatment. Working with organizations such as Smiles Change Lives and Smile for a Lifetime, Align waives lab fees while participating doctors donate their time and clinical resources.
The Canadian Association of Orthodontists, founded in 1949, serves as the national voice for certified orthodontic specialists in Canada. CFAO continues to support education, research, and charitable programs that advance orthodontic care and improve access for underserved children nationwide.
