Morocco Boosts Dental Insurance Reimbursements as MGPAP Raises Health Coverage Rates

The Moroccan Mutual Fund for Public Administration Employees (MGPAP) has increased reimbursement rates for several basic medical services.

Under the new measures, reimbursement for eligible medicines not linked to chronic or high-cost diseases has risen from 16% to 20%. When combined with coverage from Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO), total reimbursement will now reach up to 90% of the medicine’s public price, MGPAP said.

The fund also introduced a flat-rate reimbursement of MAD 10 per medical consultation in both public and private facilities. This applies to routine illnesses, chronic and costly conditions, as well as dental treatments, aiming to reduce patients’ out-of-pocket expenses.

In dental care, MGPAP established a specific complementary reimbursement for ceramic-ceramic crowns. Set at MAD 360 per tooth, the measure brings total reimbursement for this dental prosthesis, including AMO coverage, to MAD 2,360 per tooth.

MGPAP described the changes as a significant benefit for its members, helping them maintain treatment while easing financial pressure.

The revised rates follow decisions by the fund’s board of directors and form part of broader strategic programs to strengthen solidarity and social support. These efforts focus on improving complementary insurance performance and expanding services across MGPAP-affiliated health and social institutions.

The new measures add to existing benefits for members and beneficiaries, including dental clinics, medical consultation centers, optical services, support for children with disabilities, and enhanced social welfare programs.
