Clear Aligner Focus Highlights Smartee’s European Children’s Orthodontic Summit in Paris

Smartee Denti-Technology hosted the European Children’s Orthodontic Summit on December 18, 2025, at Disneyland Paris, bringing together 52 orthodontists from eight countries, including France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Algeria, Tunisia, and Syria.

Centered on the theme “Achieving Success with Children Through Aligners,” the summit explored how clear aligner therapy can be effectively integrated into early orthodontic care. The program combined theoretical discussion with clinical case sharing, offering practical guidance for treating young patients.

A key focus of the event was Smartee’s growth-based, staged pediatric orthodontic philosophy. The approach integrates clear aligners, myofunctional trainers, and functional appliances into a single system designed to guide facial and jaw development rather than simply reposition teeth. Patient engagement and compliance were highlighted as essential factors in successful pediatric treatment.

Smartee also presented its collaboration with Disney, which aims to improve children’s treatment experiences. Since launching its first pediatric orthodontic product with officially licensed Disney character packaging in China in February 2022, the company has expanded the concept to 63 countries and regions from 2024 onward.

Characters such as Elsa, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Stitch are incorporated into product design to help reduce anxiety and encourage long-term adherence, while maintaining clinical effectiveness.

Several leading European orthodontists shared insights on the evolving role of early intervention. Prof. Dr. Pascal Baron emphasized a shift from traditional treatment-focused models to growth guidance, noting that early orthodontics should support balanced development of teeth, jaws, and facial structures.

Dr. Adrien Bizet highlighted Smartee’s integrated mandibular advancement systems, describing them as a clinically relevant option for managing mandibular retrognathia at an early stage. Dr. Constance Laloze further noted that Smartee’s programmable mandibular advancement, embedded directly into aligner sequences, allows for a high level of biomechanical personalization, particularly in treating skeletal Class II cases in children and adolescents.

Beyond academic exchange, the summit served as a platform to strengthen clinical collaboration across Europe. Smartee reaffirmed its commitment to evidence-based education and to advancing clear aligner solutions for children and adolescents through continued cooperation with clinicians, educators, and researchers.
