A young Cuban TikTok user, identified as @karla28127, shared a viral video recounting her negative experience with a resin smile makeover, claiming it damaged her natural teeth and caused significant regret.
“I learned it the hard way, which is why I’m sharing my experience,” Karla wrote, showing the deterioration of her dental work in the clip.
She explained that over a year ago, she opted for resin teeth after being inspired by social media posts. “At first, I felt super happy. My teeth were white and radiant. But over time, that completely changed,” she said.
Karla displayed her damaged teeth, pointing out chips, discoloration, and even one tooth that had fallen out. “This one is partly broken, this one is missing a piece, and I actually lost this one yesterday,” she noted.
Due to the damage, she said she is traveling to Miami to consult a specialist and replace the resin with porcelain veneers, a costlier but more durable alternative.
“Social media often only shows the good side. You end up spending a lot of money fixing what’s already broken. From my experience, I do not recommend resin teeth at all,” she warned.
Karla admitted that her decision was driven more by excitement than necessity. “I really had no need for any of this, but I went through with it because it looked nice. Now, I am extremely regretful. I rarely regret anything, but I regret this,” she concluded.
