Pediatric dentistry is a relatively new specialty in India. The Dental Council of India (DCI) officially recognized pediatric and preventive dentistry as a postgraduate discipline in 1989 and soon established the first MDS program.
Despite this, most large dental centers in India have traditionally focused on adults, with pediatric care often handled by general dentists or part-time consultants.
Early in his career, Dr. Rajesh Bariker noticed a critical gap: a lack of specialized, child-centered dental care. “Pediatric dentistry is often viewed as an extension of general practice. Dedicated pediatric dental centers are very rare,” he told Startup Pedia.
To address this need, Dr. Bariker assembled a full-time team of passionate pediatric dentists and founded KidsDentist in Bangalore.
Over the years, the network has earned the trust of thousands of families, introducing international-standard pediatric dental care across preventive, restorative, emergency, and sedation dentistry.
Today, KidsDentist has three clinics in Bengaluru—in HSR Layout, Harlur, and Whitefield—with a team of five pediatric specialists.
In 2024, Dr. Bariker received international recognition for his pioneering work when he won three first prizes at the CAPP MENA Cosmetic Dentistry Awards in Dubai.
Building on this success, Dr. Rajesh Bariker and his co-founder, Payodhi Rajesh Bariker, launched KidsTooth in Dubai in 2025 as an international extension of the KidsDentist brand.
The new KidsTooth dental clinic is designed specifically for children, offering comprehensive services from infancy to adolescence.
The center offers preventive care such as exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and cavity fillings, as well as advanced treatments including pediatric root canals and safe sedation options.
The center also provides emergency care for dental injuries such as fractures or tooth loss. KidsTooth also offers early orthodontic solutions, from space maintainers and palate expanders to braces that support jaw and tooth development.
The Dubai clinic was designed by renowned Brazilian architectural firm APSP Arquitetos Associados. From the interior design to the workflow, every aspect of the clinic is designed to create a warm and welcoming, child-friendly environment that puts both children and parents at ease.
“Dubai was a strategic choice,” Dr. Bariker explains. “It is located at the intersection of Europe, Asia, and Africa, making it a true global hub. Establishing a pediatric dental clinic here allows us to provide world-class care to local families and the growing international community.”
With KidsTooth’s official launch in September, Dr. Bariker hopes to establish a trusted pediatric dental brand in the Middle East, just as he has in India.
“Your starting point shouldn’t define your limits. With passion and compassion, we can make a meaningful impact on children’s health,” he says.
