The Remote Area Medical Center (RAM) will host a free comprehensive dental, vision, and medical clinic this Saturday and Sunday at Nash Central High School (4279 Nash Central High Road). RAM, in partnership with Ripple Effects Group, is providing support to community members who face limited access to healthcare.
A press release stated, “RAM clinics are a vital support for underserved communities, offering free cleanings, fillings, extractions, and dental X-rays. They also provide eye exams, vision health assessments, eyeglass prescriptions, and on-site optician services.
In addition, the clinics offer well-woman exams, mammograms, and routine physicals. By bringing healthcare directly to those in need, RAM’s free clinics effectively eliminate barriers to access due to cost and distance.”
The Rocky Mountain clinic is open to anyone who needs assistance; no proof of insurance or identification is required.
The clinic parking lot will open before midnight on Friday, August 8, and will remain open for the duration of the clinic. Patients will receive detailed information about the appointment process and subsequent arrangements upon entering the parking lot. The clinic opens at 6:00 AM on Saturdays and is first-come, first-served. Once the clinic reaches capacity, it will close.
Sunday clinic hours are shortened, so patients are encouraged to arrive early. Due to limited time, patients will be asked to choose between dental or vision services, but general medical services are available to all patients.
Due to uncontrollable factors such as weather and volunteer changes, parking lot opening times may be earlier or capacity may be reduced. RAM particularly encourages patients requiring dental services to arrive early. Clinic closing times will be adjusted flexibly based on capacity that day.
