8 dentists stepping into new leadership roles

Several dentists have begun leading new departments and organizations in recent weeks.

Here are eight dentists who have been appointed to new leadership roles since March 3:

  • The CareQuest Institute for Oral Health appointed An Nguyen, DDS, as chief clinical officer.
  • Yun Saksena, DMD, was appointed the University of Washington School of Dentistry’s first vice dean of academic and student affairs, effective July 1.
  • Nellie Kim-Weroha, DDS, joined the American Association of Orthodontists’ board of trustees.
  • NYC Health + Hospitals’ Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital in New York City appointed Robert Margolin, DDS, as chair of the department of dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Josephine Sullivan, DDS, was named vice chair of the department.
  • Dental insurance company United Concordia Dental appointed Candace Gama, DDS, as director of dental clinical review – auditing.
  • The American Dental Association appointed Nader Nadershahi, DDS, EdD, as its next executive director. 
  • Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network named Tiffany Otto, DDS, its division chief of dental services.
