Group Vice President Americas Bruce Peatey says 40th anniversary of CEREC, great CE, and top-notch entertainment make this year’s event a must.
As the dental industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, DS World remains a premier destination for professionals eager to stay ahead of the curve.

With the theme “Empowering Connection,” DS World 2025—September 25 to September 27—promises to be a landmark event, especially as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of CEREC. Attendees will gain exclusive insights into Dentsply Sirona’s vision for the future of dentistry, explore AI-powered innovations, and discover how cloud-based collaboration can transform patient care.
Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or just beginning your digital journey, DS World offers something for everyone. From interactive workshops and CE-eligible sessions to networking opportunities and headline performances by Dana Carvey and Sheryl Crow, this is more than a conference—it’s a celebration of dentistry’s future.

We sat down with Bruce Peatey, group vice president of Dentsply Sirona Americas, to get a closer look at what attendees can expect this year, why the 40th anniversary of CEREC is such a milestone, and how DS World is helping clinicians embrace the power of connected workflows.
Q: What can attendees expect at this year’s DS World in Las Vegas?
A: Attendees can look forward to a 3-day immersive experience that combines world-class clinical education, hands-on learning, and inspiring entertainment, all under one roof at the MGM Grand. With more than 65 courses across 8 Conference Tracks and 6 Clinical Pathways, there is something for every dental professional, whether you’re just beginning your career, your digital journey or were an early adopter of digital dentistry.
We’ve structured the entire event around 3 pillars: Learn, Connect, and Celebrate. Attendees can earn up to 10.5 CE credits while designing their own learning experience with everything from cutting-edge technology workshops to hands-on training sessions—including our interactive pig jaw implant training session.
Connection is a big part of what makes DS World so special and continues to bring the dental community together year after year. We design the event to really enable peer-to-peer networking opportunities. For me personally, one of the best parts of DS World is seeing familiar faces and participating in discussions with groups of dental professionals relating their real-world experiences, challenges, needs and solutions.
Of course, DS World is also known for its atmosphere and for creating many memorable moments. This year we have a very exciting group of performers including Emmy-winning comedian Dana Carvey, who takes the stage Thursday night, followed by a powerful performance from 9-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow on Friday. Additionally, Ellen Latham, partner and founder of OrangeTheory Fitness, joins us as the keynote speaker to share insights on business growth, team building and leadership that directly apply to today’s dental entrepreneurs.
Q: With DS World 2025 marking the 40th anniversary of CEREC, Dentsply Sirona has teased that the event will feature a preview of the next evolution in CEREC solutions. Can you share anything more about that?
A: What I can say is that the 40th anniversary of CEREC is a very special milestone for us—it represents 4 decades of continuous innovation in digital dentistry. CEREC has already transformed the way dentistry is practiced around the world, and we believe its next chapter will be equally impactful. We will be previewing what’s next at DS World Las Vegas, but for now, we’re keeping the details under wraps. I can promise that anyone who attends DS World will walk away with exclusive insights into where digital dentistry is headed.
Q: Attendees can expect to ‘Experience the Future of Connected Dentistry’ at DS World. Can you paint a picture of what that future looks like for dental practices? How are innovations like AI-driven tools and cloud-based collaboration changing patient care today?
A: The future of connected dentistry is about creating end-to-end workflows that take cutting-edge software and equipment and integrate them to make practices more efficient, more collaborative, and ultimately more patient focused. Imagine being able to scan a patient with Primescan 2, have that data instantly uploaded to the cloud in DS Core, and then collaborate in real-time with your lab or a specialist—all without delays or disruptions. Add in AI-powered tools that can support treatment planning, improve diagnostic confidence, help reduce chair time, and give the patient the instantaneous ability to see their oral situation and even how the treatment plan will be put into action and you begin to see how these innovations are already reshaping care, and benefitting clinician-patient communication, trust and acceptance of the proposed treatment.
DS World makes these things tangible, showing exactly how technology and clinical expertise come together to elevate dentistry today and in the future.
Q: For clinicians who are at the beginning of their journey into digital dentistry, what specific experiences at DS World will show them how accessible and beneficial connected dentistry can become?
A: For those just starting out, DS World is the perfect place to explore how digital dental solutions can be integrated step by step into daily practice. The New Dentist Track, for example, offers practical sessions on everything from systematic approaches to composites and blocks to building confidence in practice ownership. Hands-on workshops—like denture design with inLab or A Beginner’s Guide to Using Right and Left Ultrasonic Inserts—provide a real feel for how intuitive and accessible digital tools have become. Beyond that, sessions such as It All Starts With a Scan or Transforming Patient Care with Digital Scanning show how even a single technology, like an intraoral scanner, can support improved efficiency and patient experience. Thinking about adding 3D printing to your workflow? We’ve got that covered too.
The beauty of connected dentistry is that you don’t have to transform the entire practice overnight. You can make an investment, build confidence in one area, and expand from there.
DS World is about helping clinicians and team members advance with confidence by providing insights and training to leverage the benefits of connected workflows and connected dentistry.
Just a heads-up – courses are filling up fast and spots are first come, first served, so don’t wait too long to sign up!
