Affordable Dental Care Available at Free Battle Creek Clinic

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Tabernacle Seventh-Day Adventist Church hosted a free dental, vision and medical clinic Sunday in partnership with Amen Clinics.

More than 120 volunteers — including dentists, dental hygienists, optometrists, physicians, nurses and other health professionals — staffed the event at Battle Creek Academy from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Services were provided on a first-come, first-serve basis with no appointment or residency requirements.

Amen Clinic director Nicole Braxton said the event was open to everyone. “We believe it’s more blessed to give than it is to receive.

So, we’re grateful to give back and we are open for all people in the community to come, whether you’re religious, non-religious, regardless of your background, we are here to serve you and we’re excited to serve all people. We’re here to come here and change lives,” she said.

Offered services included dental care (cleanings, fillings and extractions), vision care (eye exams and prescription eyeglasses) and basic medical screenings. The organizers said the clinic aimed to remove barriers to care and connect residents with essential health services.
