Align Technology Highlights Digital Orthodontic Education at Saudi Orthodontic Society Conference

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), a global medical device company known for the Invisalign® System, iTero™ intraoral scanners, and exocad™ CAD/CAM software, reinforced its commitment to orthodontic education by participating in the Saudi Orthodontic Society (SOS) 19th Annual Conference in Riyadh in December 2025.

The conference attracted more than 1,200 orthodontists from across the Middle East, serving as a key forum for clinical exchange and discussion on emerging treatment approaches. Align Technology maintained a strong presence through a dedicated exhibition booth, a scientific lecture, and an advanced clinical workshop.

Angelo Maura, General Manager of Align Technology for the Middle East and Africa, said the company’s participation reflected its focus on supporting the evolution of orthodontic care in the region. He noted that the SOS Conference provides an important platform for knowledge sharing and professional dialogue, enabling clinicians to better integrate digital workflows that improve treatment planning and outcomes.

As part of the scientific program, international speaker and Invisalign provider Dr. Emmanuel Dumu delivered a lecture titled “Catch It Early: Clinical Pearls for Aligner Treatment in Developing Dentition.” The session addressed early interceptive orthodontic treatment using clear aligners, with an emphasis on managing patients in the mixed dentition phase. Dr. Dumu discussed patient selection, arch development, management of spacing and crowding, and anteroposterior correction, highlighting Invisalign® First and early intervention protocols.

The lecture was followed by an advanced workshop, “Clinical Excellence with Aligners: A Masterclass in Complex Case Management.” Aimed at experienced clinicians, the workshop focused on treating complex orthodontic cases with clear aligners. Topics included extraction strategies, temporary anchorage device (TAD)–supported movements, multi-phase treatments, and interdisciplinary coordination, supported by case-based discussions and practical insights.

According to Dr. Dumu, professional forums such as the SOS Conference are essential for advancing orthodontic practice. He emphasized that sharing real-world clinical experience and exploring digital workflows helps clinicians apply aligner treatments with greater precision and confidence across diverse patient needs.

Align Technology also used the conference to showcase its ongoing investment in digital innovation and to highlight the establishment of a direct company entity in Saudi Arabia. The move underscores Align’s strategy to strengthen local support by providing clinicians with improved access to digital solutions, education, and service infrastructure.

Maura added that Align’s goal is to empower doctors with technology and knowledge that support predictable outcomes and better patient experiences. He said a direct local presence will enhance collaboration with orthodontists and general practitioners, supporting practice growth and expanding access to Align’s digital orthodontic platform across Saudi Arabia.
