Bridgwater Community Care NHS Foundation Trust has opened a new specialist dental clinic at Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre, designed to cater for patients who are unable to receive regular NHS dental treatment due to health, physical or psychological conditions.
The new clinic is equipped with modern treatment rooms and advanced dental equipment, including an on-site x-ray machine, providing a one-stop comprehensive dental care service.
Nikhil Khashu, CEO of the Trust, said: “Our patients can now have all their dental treatments done in one place, which greatly reduces their anxiety and stress. By integrating the latest technology, we are able to provide patients with a more efficient and seamless care experience.”
The clinic accepts referrals from dentists, GPs and other health and social care professionals and is an important community health resource.
Daisy Chapman, a 10-year-old girl from Sale, was one of the first patients to see the clinic. She was treated for toothache and gradually relaxed under the gentle guidance of the medical staff.
Daisy’s mother Amanda Charnock shared: “Daisy was nervous at first, but the dental team managed to divert her attention by telling stories and explaining the treatment process. She actively participated in the whole process, which was very touching.”
Little Daisy also expressed her love for the new clinic: “I love going to the dentist now because I can understand the purpose of various equipment, especially the treatment chair is really interesting.”
Martin Taylor, chairman of Bridgewater Community Healthcare Trust, added: “We are very proud to be able to provide patients with this advanced and personalized dental service, which fully reflects our people-centered care philosophy.”
