Los Angeles, CA — September 7, 2025 — Cal Dental USA has appointed Dr. Ki Lee as its new Lead Dentist, marking a new chapter for one of Southern California’s fastest-growing Dental Service Organizations (DSOs). Dr. Lee succeeds Dr. Sean Sunyoto, who played a key role in the group’s expansion in recent years.
The appointment highlights Cal Dental USA’s commitment to innovation in patient care, with a focus on advanced digital dentistry and minimally invasive treatments such as LANAP® (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure).
A Veteran Dentist with International Training
Dr. Lee has nearly two decades of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean, he reflects the diverse patient community served by Cal Dental USA. His advanced training spans multiple countries and specialties, including:

Expanding LANAP and Digital Dentistry
Within Cal Dental USA, Dr. Lee has already led the rollout of LANAP®, a laser-based treatment for gum disease that reduces pain and recovery time compared to traditional surgery. The therapy reflects the organization’s aim to make modern, patient-friendly treatments widely available.
He has also driven the adoption of digital dentistry systems that improve accuracy, reduce treatment time, and lower costs.
These tools have enhanced procedures such as crowns, implants, and restorative work.
Earlier this year, Dr. Lee presented his vision at the Annual Glidewell DSO Meeting alongside Cal Dental USA founder Dr. John Kim and other senior leaders. His message centered on innovation, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
A Smooth Transition in Leadership
Dr. Lee takes over from Dr. Sunyoto at a time of stability and continued growth for the DSO. Company executives say his leadership will ensure consistency in patient care while driving new innovations.
