Hong Kong – Colgate has teamed up with the Hong Kong Dental Association and Mannings to open the city’s first TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab at Olympian City 2. Running from March 12 to 18, the initiative offers free gum screenings, expert consultations, and interactive activities to promote proactive oral health care.
Timed ahead of World Oral Health Day on March 20, the event encourages a “prevention over cure” approach to oral health. It aims to raise awareness of the early signs of periodontal disease, such as gum bleeding and swelling, and emphasize the connection between oral health and conditions like cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
The TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab focuses on the concept that “Healthy Bodies Start with Healthy Gums.” It combines clinical assessments with engaging educational activities, including real-time periodontal screenings, consultations, expert seminars, and three interactive challenges designed to highlight hidden oral health risks.
A standout feature is the lab’s clinical-grade Plaque Detector, which uses optical imaging to reveal bacteria often invisible to the naked eye. On March 14 and 15, visitors can also try the Gum AI Oral Health Assessment, a smartphone-based system developed by a university that evaluates gingival health and provides user-friendly reports.
Participants who complete consultations receive a tube of Colgate Total Plaque Intense & Gum Repair (95g) and exclusive brand vouchers. The event also includes “Healthy Teeth” challenges with rewards like Colgate products, cash vouchers, and limited-edition Nailoong merchandise.
The lab also partners with Mannings, offering on-site and online promotions, including premium gifts for purchases of select oral care products.
Through a combination of preventive care, digital tools, and hands-on learning, the TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab seeks to empower Hong Kong residents to protect their gum and overall health.
