Hong Kong – Colgate, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Dental Association and Mannings, has launched Hong Kong’s first TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab at Olympian City 2. Running from March 12 to 18, the initiative offers free gum screenings, professional consultations, and interactive activities to promote proactive oral health.
The launch comes ahead of World Oral Health Day on March 20 and emphasizes a “prevention over cure” approach. The program aims to raise public awareness about early signs of periodontal disease, including gum bleeding and swelling, while highlighting links between oral health and systemic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
The lab centers on the theme “Healthy Bodies Start with Healthy Gums”. It combines clinical assessments with educational experiences, featuring real-time periodontal screenings, expert seminars, consultations, and interactive challenges designed to reveal hidden oral health risks.
A highlight of the lab is the clinical-grade Plaque Detector, which uses optical imaging to visualize bacteria invisible to the naked eye. On March 14 and 15, visitors can also use the Gum AI Oral Health Assessment, a smartphone-based tool developed by a local university that evaluates gum health and generates easy-to-understand reports.
Visitors completing consultations will receive a tube of Colgate Total Plaque Intense & Gum Repair (95g) and exclusive brand vouchers. Attendees can also participate in “Healthy Teeth” challenges, with prizes including Colgate products, cash vouchers, and limited-edition Nailoong merchandise.
The initiative is supported by Mannings, offering on-site and online promotions with premium gifts for select oral care purchases.
By combining preventive care, digital tools, and hands-on learning, the TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab aims to empower Hong Kong residents to safeguard both gum health and overall well-being.
