Dubai’s Dental Week to Boost Oral Health Awareness with City-Wide Promotions

Dubai is set to make dental care more affordable for residents and visitors alike through a new initiative aimed at enhancing oral health awareness. Whether you’re looking for a routine cavity filling, a root canal, or the perfect “Hollywood smile,” Dubai Dental Week promises significant discounts and free consultations across the emirate.

The event, organized by AEEDC Dubai (UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition), will be held annually, with the inaugural edition taking place from January 16 to 22, 2027. Dental clinics and hospitals throughout Dubai will participate by offering promotional packages, discounts, and free consultations, making dental care more accessible.

The initiative, which aims to promote both affordability and awareness, is supported by Dubai Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). The announcement was made following the conclusion of AEEDC Dubai 2026, marking its 30th edition.

Widespread Access and Awareness Campaigns

The event will feature a city-wide effort to raise awareness about oral health. Mohamed Al Mheiri, Director of the Health Tourism Department at DHA, emphasized that clinics will set up activation programs in various locations such as shopping malls, schools, government offices, and corporate workplaces. The focus will be on educating residents, particularly children and young adults, on how oral health impacts overall well-being.

While Dubai has 1,353 dental clinics, polyclinics, and hospitals, not all will participate, but many are expected to join the initiative voluntarily, some out of corporate social responsibility rather than commercial interests.

Beyond Clinical Care: A Community Focus

Prof Abdulsalam Al Madani, Chairman of AEEDC Dubai and the Global Scientific Dental Alliance, stressed that the initiative goes beyond just clinical care. “We need to engage schools and communities. It’s crucial to involve the next generation,” he said. Al Madani confirmed that participating clinics will offer discounts on various treatments and consultations at public venues like malls during the week.

For those without dental insurance, the initiative offers a valuable opportunity to access essential treatments at reduced prices. Al Mheiri added that residents would also have access to affordable cosmetic procedures, such as teeth whitening and veneers, which are often perceived as costly.

Dubai: A Growing Hub for Dental Tourism

Dubai is increasingly becoming a global destination for dental tourism. In 2023, the emirate attracted 691,000 medical tourists, with dental services leading the way. About 29 percent of these visitors sought cosmetic dental treatments, including smile makeovers, veneers, and teeth whitening, solidifying Dubai’s position as a hub for advanced dental care.
