TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — Free dental care will be available to residents in Manhattan later this month through the Kansas Mission of Mercy clinic.
Niki Sadler, executive director of the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation, and Dr. Jill Ellner, a Manhattan dentist and chair of this year’s local planning committee, shared details during a recent appearance on Eye on NE Kansas.
Sadler, who has organized Mission of Mercy events for more than 20 years, said the clinics aim to serve as many patients as possible. Services include dental cleanings, fillings, and extractions. She noted that demand for free dental care remains consistently high.
Ellner emphasized the importance of access to dental services, adding that more than 400 volunteers will support the event. About 60 dentists have already signed up, and Sadler expects that number to grow to nearly 100 by the time the clinic opens, allowing more patients to be treated.
The Kansas Mission of Mercy will take place Jan. 30 and 31 at the Army National Guard Armory, 721 Levee Dr. in Manhattan. Doors open at 5:30 a.m. each day.
No appointments are required. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and both adults and children are eligible to receive care.
