LG Chem, Yeosu Port Authority Donate 40 Million Won for Dental Treatment and Senior Aid

Yeosu, South Jeolla Province – December 23, 2025: LG Chem Yeosu Plant and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority jointly donated 40 million won to support dental treatment for low-income children and adolescents, as well as mobility aids for elderly residents. Each organization contributed 20 million won.

The donation certificate ceremony was attended by Yeosu Mayor Lee Hyungyu, LG Chem Yeosu Plant Executive Director Kim Ilyoung, Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Win-Win Communication Department Head Kim Jongjin, and representatives from Ssangbong General Social Welfare Center. The event highlighted the value of public-private partnerships and community giving.

Of the total donation, 30 million won will fund the “Dream, Hope Smile” project, which provides dental care and oral disease treatment for disadvantaged children and teens. The remaining 10 million won will support the “Hope Sharing Silver Car of Love” initiative, offering walking aids to low-income seniors aged 65 and above with mobility challenges.

The “Dream, Hope Smile” program has been running for six years since July 2020, under a partnership between Yeosu City, LG Chem Yeosu Plant, Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, Yeosu Dental Association, and Ssangbong General Social Welfare Center.

A city official emphasized, “This sponsorship helps ensure the healthy development of children and adolescents while supporting the safe daily lives of seniors. Corporate participation strengthens the culture of sharing within the community.”

Since 2020, the combined efforts of LG Chem and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority have enabled dental treatment for 670 children and adolescents and provided walking aids to 330 seniors.
