Doha, Qatar – The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), in collaboration with its partners, has launched the seventh National Oral and Dental Health Campaign throughout September. The initiative aims to raise awareness and promote oral and dental health across the community.
The campaign forms part of the broader National Oral and Dental Health Programmes. It seeks to educate the public with accurate information about oral hygiene and dental care. Messages will be shared through the Ministry’s official media channels, social media platforms, and the platforms of its healthcare partners.
Digital displays highlighting key oral health messages will be installed at the main entrances of public and private hospitals and health centres across the country. The campaign will also host a series of events, including awareness days at the Mall of Qatar on September 11 and 18, specifically targeting children and the general public. Additional activities include a dedicated oral health awareness day at the Enaya Specialised Care Centre and a session linking oral health to heart health.
The campaign extends online, offering lectures for healthcare workers led by specialist dentists from the MoPH. These sessions aim to reach a wide segment of Qatar’s population and emphasize the importance of maintaining oral health.
In addition, the Ministry is conducting the third phase of its training course on oral health awareness for elderly care in 2025 at the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Centre, Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City. The program is designed to strengthen and certify healthcare professionals who provide care for elderly patients. Participants include doctors, dentists, dental assistants, oral health specialists, allied healthcare practitioners, and nurses.
The course has received accreditation under the Ministry’s Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes.
Since 2023, the MoPH has also been running workshops on oral and dental health for medical and allied healthcare staff in both public and private sectors. These initiatives highlight the critical importance of oral care for elderly patients.
