The American Dental Association (ADA) is pleased to announce Deborah Doherty will serve the Association as its Chief Business Product Officer.

In her new role, Doherty will lead the Business Product Group, overseeing strategy, sales, and operations for all non-dues revenue streams. This includes areas such as sales strategy and product development, publishing, corporate sponsorships and relations, continuing education grants, database licensing, the ADA Health Policy Institute, the ADA Seal of Acceptance Program, ADA Business Enterprises, Inc., as well as the ADA’s insurance portfolio and international initiatives.
She will establish the overall vision and growth strategy for the Association that includes saleable offerings to dentists and dental professionals, as well as group sales to businesses and institutions, ensuring cohesive execution throughout the organization.
“I look forward to elevating the goals of the ADA Business Product Group to develop sales and revenue strategies that deliver value to our members and contribute to the growth and influence of the ADA,” said Doherty. “At the center of our work, we are focused on the ADA’s mission to help dentists succeed and support the advancement of public health.”
Prior to this role, Ms. Doherty led the subsidiary ADA Business Enterprises, Inc. (ADABEI) for more than a decade, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer from 2020 to 2024. During her tenure as ADABEI’s CEO, she delivered mission-critical initiatives, resulting in a 36% increase in partner revenue.

Doherty first joined the ADA in 2003 and has held numerous leadership roles focused on the generation of non-dues revenue and growing the ADA Member Advantage program. Doherty holds a degree in Marketing from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Douglass College at Rutgers University.
