Palang Hosts 10th Free Dental Clinic, Volunteers Needed

Access to and ability to afford healthcare are crucial to a person’s overall health. The late Stan Block understood this deeply, founding Remote Area Medical Center (RAM), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free pop-up clinics, including dental, vision, and general medical services, to remote communities worldwide.

The Pahrump community has been a beneficiary of RAM’s free pop-up clinics, hosting them annually for the past nine years. This October, the Pahrump RAM Clinic will celebrate its tenth consecutive year.

The two-day event was organized by the Pahrump RAM Community Host Team, part of the New Year’s Eve Communities Coalition.

After extensive planning and careful consideration, the committee leveraged community resources and connections to gather numerous supporters to ensure the smooth running of the event. Funding, professional services, and personnel support were crucial to the event’s success.

Nye County issued a public notice calling on community members to “Become Community Heroes!” The Pahrump Remote Area Dental Clinic, taking place October 4th and 5th, is seeking dedicated volunteers to help make the event a success. The clinic will provide high-quality dental, vision, and medical services free of charge to residents in need.

Qualified volunteers, such as dentists, optometrists, physicians, and nurses, are particularly welcome. Volunteers are also needed to perform support duties such as interpreting, guiding patients, data entry, and exhibit setup and teardown.

Arnold Knightley, Public Communications Manager for Nye County, said, “Together, we can change lives. Your participation will have a profound impact. Thank you for considering joining this mission to change lives.”
