The Pittsburgh Mercy Mission is seeking volunteers for its annual free dental, vision, and hearing clinic, October 24-25, 2025, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
This two-day event brings together dentists, clinicians, optometrists, ophthalmologists, nurses, imaging technicians, and general volunteers to help children and adults who face challenges accessing or affording routine dental, vision, and hearing care.
The clinic is urgently in need of the following volunteers:
Dentists
Hygienists and Dental Assistants
Dental Students and Teachers
Pharmacists
Nurses and Nurse Practitioners
Doctors and Physician Assistants
Laboratory Technicians
Radiology Staff
Optometrists
Ophthalmologists
Audiologists
Dental services include examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canals. Free eye exams, eyeglass fittings, hearing assessments, and hearing aids will also be provided. General volunteers will also assist with reception, registration, and other administrative duties. No clinical experience is required.
Keith Young, a member of the Pittsburgh Mercy Mission Board of Directors, said, “Mercy Mission brings together people dedicated to serving the most vulnerable, showcasing the heart and care of our city.
Our volunteers make a profound impact by alleviating pain, restoring hearing, or helping people see more clearly. The experience of helping others and improving their health is truly special.”
All regular volunteers will receive training before the event, and meals will be provided on the day of the service. Mr. Young also expressed his gratitude to all volunteers for their expertise and selfless dedication, and called on community volunteers across Western Pennsylvania to join in supporting the clinic this fall.
