Shasta College and Hill Country Community Clinic have announced a new partnership to provide clinical hands-on experience for dental hygiene students.
The collaboration, held at the Downtown Redding Health Sciences Center, integrates Hill Country’s clinical services with the college’s dental hygiene program.
Dr. Frank Nigro, president of Shasta College, emphasized that Hill Country is a valuable clinical partner, providing students with valuable hands-on opportunities.
Located near the college’s classrooms, Hill Country’s clinic allows students to apply their theoretical knowledge directly with dentists and dental professionals, preparing them for successful careers in the field.
Hill Country Community Clinic currently provides dental care at its clinic and health and wellness center in East Shasta County and is expanding its services to better serve underserved patients in the Redding area.
CEO Joe Campbell noted, “Over 50% of our patients drive from Redding to our Round Mountain clinic.
The new Redding clinic will allow us to provide eight days of care between our two locations, compared to our current five.”
The new dental clinic will be open Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.
