KARACHI — The Government of Sindh has appointed Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khalidi as Chief Dental Surgeon (BS-20) at Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau, Civil Hospital Karachi, with immediate effect, according to an official notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department.
Dr. Khalidi, a senior dental professional with more than three decades of public sector experience, has been serving the dental community since 1993. He hails from Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) and earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, formerly Liaquat Medical College.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Khalidi was posted as Head of Department and Additional Chief Dental Surgeon at Sindh Government Services Hospital, Karachi, a role he held from 2019 to 2026. He has also served as Head of the Dental Department at Police Hospital Karachi and worked as District Dental Focal Person for Thatta and Sujawal, contributing to both clinical services and administrative oversight.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khalidi has focused on improving access to public dental care, strengthening clinical standards, and mentoring young dental professionals. His professional and humanitarian contributions were recognized early, with nominations to “Who’s Who in Pakistan” in 1993 and 1994.
The notification states that Dr. Khalidi has been transferred from his position as Senior Dental Surgeon (BS-19) at Services Hospital Karachi to fill an existing vacancy at Civil Hospital Karachi.
Health officials expect his appointment to enhance Dental Services at one of Sindh’s largest public hospitals, improve administrative efficiency, and support better patient care. The move reflects the provincial government’s continued emphasis on placing experienced professionals in key leadership roles within the public healthcare system.
