A Sunshine Coast dentist has received national recognition at one of Australia’s most prestigious professional events, cementing his reputation as a leader in advanced dental care.
Dr Paul Greham was named Australian Implantologist of the Year 2025 at the Australian Dentistry Awards, held in Melbourne last month. He was selected from more than 80 nominations assessed by a panel of expert peers from across the country.
The award recognises excellence in dental implantology and advanced oral surgery, highlighting Dr Greham’s significant contribution to the profession.
“I am so humbled and grateful to have been recognised as Australian Implantologist of the Year,” Dr Greham said. “As a local Sunshine Coast dentist, it was an amazing feeling to receive such an honour from a panel of my peers.”
Dr Greham provides visiting specialist implant and all-on-X dental care services at Sunrise Dental Care in Sunrise Beach, where he attends monthly on Saturdays.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Liverpool in 2004 and has since completed thousands of hours of advanced training in surgical and implant dentistry. His qualifications include a postgraduate certificate in cosmetic and aesthetic medicine from the University of South Wales, and he is currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in dental implantology through the University of Greater Manchester.
With more than 20 years of surgical experience, Dr Greham focuses exclusively on implant dentistry. His areas of expertise include all-on-4 full-arch rehabilitation, dental implants, and bone and gum grafting. He has placed thousands of implants and is known for his precision, structured approach, and ability to manage complex cases.
His expertise has also led to appointments as a clinical instructor and lecturer for Neoss and Neodent implant systems across Australia, Asia, and Europe.
In addition to his technical skill, Dr Greham is well regarded for his calm and approachable manner, particularly among anxious patients. He also acknowledged the role of his support team following the award.
“An extra special thanks to all of the wonderful and talented dental assistants I work alongside,” he said. “Dentistry is a team effort, and this achievement reflects 20 years of dedication to the craft.”
Dr Greham said he remains as passionate about implant dentistry today as when he placed his first implant nearly two decades ago.
