A Sunshine Coast dentist has received national recognition at one of Australia’s most prestigious dental industry events.
Dr Paul Greham was named Australian Implantologist of the Year 2025 at the Australian Dentistry Awards, held in Melbourne last month. He was selected from more than 80 nominations by a panel of expert peers from across the country.
The award recognises outstanding achievement in dental implantology and advanced oral surgery, further cementing Dr Greham’s reputation as a leading specialist in his field.
Dr Greham said he was honoured to receive the accolade.
“I am so humbled and grateful to have been recognised as Australian Implantologist of the Year,” he said.
“As a local Sunshine Coast dentist, it was an amazing feeling to be bestowed such an honour by a panel of judges made up of my peers.”
Dr Greham provides visiting specialist implant and “all-on-X” services at Sunrise Dental Care in Sunrise Beach, where he attends monthly on Saturdays.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Liverpool in 2004 and has since completed thousands of hours of advanced training in surgical and implant dentistry. His qualifications include a postgraduate certificate in cosmetic and aesthetic medicine from the University of South Wales, and he is currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in dental implantology through the University of Greater Manchester.
With more than 20 years of surgical experience, Dr Greham focuses exclusively on implant dentistry. His areas of expertise include full-arch rehabilitation using the “all-on-4” technique, dental implants, and bone and gum grafting. He has placed thousands of implants and is known for his precise, methodical approach, particularly in complex cases.
His expertise has also led to appointments as a clinical instructor and lecturer for Neoss and Neodent implant systems across Australia, Asia and Europe.
In addition to his technical skills, Dr Greham is widely praised for his calm and approachable manner, making him a popular choice for nervous patients.
He also acknowledged the support of his dental assistants following the award.
“Dentistry is a team event and we definitely can’t do it without your help and support,” he said.
“Standing on the stage was the culmination of 20 years of hard work and dedication to the craft, and I am as passionate about implantology today as I was 19 years ago when I placed my first implant.”
