Last Friday, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) community took part in an inspiring initiative, joining The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) Mission of Mercy event to deliver free dental care to those in need. The event offered essential oral health services to 83 patients who might otherwise have limited access to care.
UMSOD students, faculty, and staff played a critical role in every aspect of the event. They provided comprehensive clinical care, including examinations, cleanings, and preventive treatments. Radiographs were taken to assess patients’ dental health, helping clinicians diagnose issues and plan necessary treatments.
