Colgate Expands Dental Hygiene Programme to 57 Lakh Haryana Students

New Delhi, 23 February 2026 — Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited has partnered with the Government of Haryana to extend its Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® (BSBF) programme to 5.7 million schoolchildren across the state, integrating structured dental hygiene education into public and private schools.

The BSBF initiative currently reaches more than 10 million children annually across India. Under the Haryana collaboration, oral health awareness and preventive practices will be embedded within the state’s education system to promote healthy habits from an early age.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited said the expanded programme will deliver in-person sessions led by trained facilitators using age-appropriate modules. The curriculum will cover brushing twice daily, timely toothbrush replacement, tobacco prevention awareness and nutrition practices that support oral hygiene.

Each participating school will establish an Oral Health Board to reinforce preventive messaging. Teachers will receive training on dental anatomy and hygiene practices to ensure continued reinforcement in classrooms. Students will also be provided with take-home dental kits and brushing calendars to encourage daily routines and parental involvement.

Nayab Singh Saini said improving children’s health is central to the state’s long-term development goals. He noted that the partnership aims to strengthen awareness and embed preventive dental hygiene practices among students statewide.

Prabha Narasimhan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, described the collaboration as a shift from awareness campaigns to large-scale implementation. She said integrating the programme into Haryana’s education framework will help make preventive care a core part of a child’s development.

Shilpashree Muniswamappa, Director – ESG & Communications at the company, said consistent preventive education can drive behavioural change beyond the classroom, with children promoting healthy habits within their families and communities.

Since its launch, Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® has reached more than 195 million children in India and over 2 billion children and families worldwide.
