KOTA KINABALU – Sabah will host its inaugural state-level Oral Health Scientific Symposium (SOHSS) on Feb 6–7, bringing together dental professionals to share research, clinical case reports, and innovations in oral health services.
Dr Mohd Khairul Firdaus Bin Mazlan, a restorative dental specialist at Keningau Dental Clinic and Programme Advisor for the event, said the symposium offers a platform to showcase clinical work and research for professional evaluation and application.
“Themed From Chairside to Community: Bridging Science and Service, the symposium highlights the connection between clinical science, patient care, and community oral health impact,” he said.
The two-day event at Sabah Craft Centre Hall in Keningau will feature oral and poster presentations, hands-on workshops, and expert lectures across multiple dental disciplines.

Key highlights include workshops in endodontics, aesthetic restorative dentistry, and clinical dental photography, along with lectures on sleep apnea, active ageing, clinical audit, virtual maxillofacial surgery, and digital dentistry.
The programme targets dental specialists, officers, nurses, and technologists throughout Sabah to enhance scientific communication skills and confidence in professional presentations.
