Extra Appointments Available for Those Who Need a Dentist in Shropshire

Health leaders at NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (NHS STW) have announced additional urgent dental appointments for residents across the county.

These are part of the 700,000 extra urgent dental slots being rolled out nationwide, with 7,000 new appointments now available locally.

Appointments can be made online through NHS 111 for urgent dental issues, including severe toothache, abscess, broken or missing tooth, swelling, or severe bleeding gums.

Patients already registered with a dentist should contact their dental practice during normal working hours for care.

Dr Lorna Clarson, Chief Medical Officer at NHS STW, emphasized the importance of timely access to dental care. “These additional appointments will help make urgent dental support more accessible for those who need it most,” she said.
